If the vertex of image Q' is located at coordinates (16,8) was dilated by a scale factor of 2, what was the coordinates for the pre-image Q?​

Explanation:

When you dilate a coordinate by a factor say a, the coordinate of the image are multiplied by this factor to get the coordinate of the pre-image. For example, if the coordinate of the image is (x,y) dilated by a factor of "a", the coordinate of the pre-image will be (ax, ay)

Given the coordinate (16, 8) the coordinate of the pre image of dilated by a factor of 2 is given as;

(2×16, 2×8) = (32, 16)

Hence the coordinates for the pre-image Q is (32,16)
