Perimeter equals width + length (P= W+L)

P=42
W=6
L=?

42=6+L

Subtract 6 from 42

42-6= 36

Length= 36

Answer:

15 I think.

Explanation:

If the perimeter is 42 inches and the width is 6 inches. That is only one side so you multiply.6 by 2 to get 12. Then 42 minus 12 is 30. Finally you split 30 into 2, to get the length. Since there are to sides. So 15.
