By using a2+b2=c2 and plugging the legs as a and b and the hypotenuse for c, you square them and square root them and you should get 14.6

Answer:

c = 14.6

Explanation:

\textrm {Applying the Pythagorean Theorem : }

⇒ a² + b² = c²

\textrm {Here, we are given :}

⇒ a = 4

⇒ b = 14

\textrm {Solving :}

⇒ c² = 4² + 14²

⇒ c² = 16 + 196

⇒ c² = 212

⇒ c = √212

c = 14.6
\textrm {(nearest tenth)}
