The probability values for the events given are : 0.3438 and 0.891 respectively.

Using the binomial probability formula:

  • nCx * p^(x) * (1-p)^(n-x)
  • probability of success , p = 0.5
  • number of trials, n = 6

1.)

P(at least 4 girls) = P(X = 4 ) + ... + P(X = 6)

P(atleast 4 girls) = 0.3438

2.)

P(at most 4 girls ) = P(X = 0) + ... + P(X = 4)

P(at most 4 girls) = 0.891
