Angles

Find the measure of a, b, and c.

  • Shown in the figure, the relationship between 55° and ∠A are vertical pairs, so they should have the same measurement. So therefore the measure of ∠A is 55°.

  • The relationship between ∠A and ∠B are alternate interior angles, so they are also congruent. As you notice, 55° and ∠B are corresponding angles. If a = 55°, then b = 55°.

  • Meanwhile, the relationship between ∠B and ∠C are linear pairs, so when you add up their measurements, it will become 180°. To find out the measure of ∠C, simply subtract 180 and 55. 180 - 55 = 125, so the measure of ∠C is 125°.

Answer:

  • ∠A = 55°
  • ∠B = 55°
  • ∠C = 125°
