Find the measure of a, b, and c.
Shown in the figure, the relationship between
55° and ∠A
are
vertical pairs
, so they should have the
same measurement
. So therefore the measure of ∠A is 55°.
The relationship between
∠A and ∠B
are
alternate interior angles
, so they are also
congruent
. As you notice,
55° and ∠B
are
corresponding angles
. If a = 55°, then
b = 55°
.
Meanwhile, the relationship between
∠B and ∠C
are
linear pairs
, so when you add up their measurements, it will become
180°
. To find out the measure of ∠C, simply
subtract 180 and 55
. 180 - 55 = 125, so the measure of
∠C is 125°
.
Answer:
∠A = 55°
∠B = 55°
∠C = 125°
