The best way to go about this is to use the sine rule

But before we proceed, we need the measure of angle V

Mathematically, since we have a triangle

W + U + V = 180

This is the sum of angles in a triangle

56 + 117 + V = 180

V = 180-56-117

V = 7 degrees

so we proceed to use sine rule to get the length of v

Mathematically;

v/Sin V = u/Sin U

Thus;

v/sin 7 = 44/sin 117

v = 44sin 7/sin 117

v = 6.018

This is approximately 6 inches
