Firstly, lets solve for the slope by finding the change in y over the change in x:

slope (m)=
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

We will plug in the values of the points given and find that:

slope (m)=
(-1-2)/(4-0)

this equals (-3/4)

from here we will use the point slope formula to find for the equation that the line passes through. You can use either point for this step, I will be using A(0,2).

Point-slope equation:


y-y1=m(x-x1)

Plugging in values:


y-2=((-3)/(4))(x-0)

after isolating y we find that the equation is:


y=(-3)/(4) x+2
