2x+7 = x^2 - 1

x^2 - 2x -8 = 0

(x-4)(x+2) = 0 shows the x-coordinate for intersections at x = 4 and -2

sub these x values into one of the equations to calculate the y coordinate

y = 2(4) + 7 = 15 so one point is 4,15

y = 2(-2) + 7 = 3 the other point is then -2, 3
