= price before tax + tax

= p + [ (0.13/100) x p] ---------------(eq 1)

we are given that the tax (i.e VAT) = 189.80

hence,

[ (0.13/100) x p] = 189.8

0.13p = (100)(189.8)

p = (100)(189.8) / 0.13

p = 146000

hence our eq 1 above becomes:

p + [ (0.13/100) x p]

= 146000 + 189.8

= 146189.8
