We have:

y = 4x - 5

Lets add 5 in each member:

y + 5 = 4x - 5 + 5

y + 5 = 4x

Divide the entire equation by 4:

(y+5)/(4) = (4x)/(4)\\\\(y+5)/(4) = x\\\\x = (y+5)/(4)\\\\\boxed{x = (y)/(4) + (5)/(4)}
