1. The ratio of boys to girls in the sixth grade is 2 : 3.

a. If there are 24 boys, how many girls are there?

a. 36 girls

b. 48 girls

c. 15 more girls than boys

Explanation:

a. if the ratio for the question is 2:3 with a refernce ratio of 24:X, with cross multiplication we find out the x=36

b. now we must separate 80 into the 2:3 ratio making 32:48 with 48 girls

c. the same thing will be done with 75, making its 2:3 ratio 30:45, to find the difference of the two numbers you must subtract, this shows that the difference is 15 more girls.
