With the two point already highlighted, find the difference they have in x and y. (-1, 2) and (2, 2)

x = -1 - 2 = -3

y = -2 - 2 = -4

The slope is y/x so it would be -4/-3 or just 4/3 because the negatives cancel each other out and they mean the same anyway.

An easier way would to just draw a slope triangle from the two points and count the squares they have. 4 squares going up and 3 squares going to the right = 4/3

Keep in mind the phrase” rise over run” rise is going up and down. Run is going sideways. Rise is 4 and run is 3 you have to determine if it’s negative or positive in this case it’s positive
