8. A tire dealer sells Supreme tires for $48 each and Prestige tires for $56 each. During one week, the sales for both tires totaled $2008. If 11 Prestige tires were sold, write and solve a linear equation to find the number of Supreme tires sold.​

Let x represent quantity of supreme tyre

Let y represent quantity of Prestige tyre

So, the equation will be:


45x+56y=2008

11 Prestige tires were sold, write and solve a linear equation to find the number of Supreme tires sold.

So, we are given y= 11 and we need to find value of x using above equation


45x+56y=2008\\45x+56(11)=2008\\45x+616=2008\\45x=2008-616\\45x=1392\\x=(1392)/(45)\\x=30.933\\ x\approx31
