step 1

add -4 to both left hand side and right hand side

then you get the equation : | 3x-2| = 0

step 2

you solve the absolute value which is: | 3x-2 |

and that is : 3x-2 = 0 (possibility 1)

3x-2 +2 = 0 +2 ( add 2 to both sides )

then you get : 3x = 2

step 3

you divide 3 on both side : 3x by 3 = ⅔ ( 2 by 3)

then you get your answer as : x = ⅔
