Solve for y.

8x−4y=16

-4y = -8x + 16

y = (-8x + 16)/-4

y = (-8x)/-4 + (16/-4)

y = 2x - 4

We only need two points to graph linear equations.

Now let x be 0 and solve for y.

y = 2(0) - 4

y = -4

This leads to the point (0, -4).

We need another point.

Let y = 0 and solve for x.

0 = 2x - 4

4 = 2x

4/2 = x

2 = x

This leads to the point (2,0).

Plot these two points on the xy-plane and connect the points with a straight line.

I'll let you do that.

Understand?
