Explanation:

x-√2x-5=5

-√2x-5=5-x

√2x-5=-5+x

2x-5=x²-10x+25

2x-5-x²+10x-25=0

12x-20-x²=0

-x²+12x-20=0

x²-12x+20=0

x=10

Note: there is a another answer x=2 but the equality will be false if x=2 so the answer is 10
