Answer :

Large population size and greater consumption of resources.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • In 2012, China's ecological footprint was 2.5 times its biocapacity. Thus was experienced a biocapacity deficit, though china has an ecological footprint of 2.1 GHA.
  • That is 80% of the global average that is 2.7 GHA. The ecological footprint of China is the largest in the world due to its population size.
  • In Europe, the ecological footprint in 2012 was 4.78 per person and had a biocapacity of 2.06%. That is three times lesser than average than china which is 2.3 GHA.
