Given :

John has 3 ½ = 7/2 pounds of Skittles.

He decides to give ¾ pounds of Skittles to each friend.

To Find :

How much the leftover Skittles are.

Solution :

Let, his number of bands are x.

So, amount of Skittles left is :

L= (7)/(2)-(3x)/(4)\\\\L = (24-3x)/(4)

Therefore, amount of leftover Skittles are
(24-3x)/(4) pounds if number of friends are x.

Hence, this is the required solution.
