A rectangular lawn of length 40m and breadth 25m is to be surrounded externally by a path which is 2m wide. Find the area of the path.​

Answer:

276m²

Explanation:

area of path = area of outer rectangle - area of inner rectangle

dimensions given of inner = l-40m

b - 25m

thickness = 2m

new l = 40+2+2 = 44m = L

new b = 25 + 2+ 2= 29m = B

hence, LB- lb = area of path

= 44*29 - 40*25

= 1276 - 1000

= 276m²
