Subtract 2y from both sides (property of subtraction)
3x + 7 = 5x + y + 10
Subtract 3x from both sides
7 = 2x + y + 10
Subtract 10 from both sides
2x + y = -3
Subtract 2x from both sides
y = y = -2x -3
m = -2

Answer:

See Below.

Explanation:

1) Given:

3x+2y+7=5x+3y+10

2) Subtraction Property of Equality (subtract 2y from both sides):

3x+7=5x+y+10

3) Subtraction Property of Equality (subtract 5x from both sides):

-2x+7=y+10

4) Subtraction Property of Equality (subtract 10 from both sides):

-2x-3=y

5) Symmetric Property:

y=-2x-3

6) Slope-intercept form:

y=mx+b\text{, where $m$ is slope and $b$ is y-intercept.}

7) Substitution:

m=-2
