How does dickens present poverty using language in a Christmas carol.

There are many instances where dickens present poverty.
He describes the Cratchit family as “They are not dressed well; they’re shoes were far from being waterproof; their clothes were scanty.”
Dickens use mixture of description to describe the family. They wore bad quality clothing because they cannot afford it.
