The answer is x=-6.33333 (-19/3)

First, add like terms (12+7), which would equal to 19.
Then isolate the variable by subtracting 19 and adding it to the other side of the equal sign.
Now with this new equation of 3x=-19, isolate again by dividing 3 from x and do the same thing to the other side (-19/3).
The answer should be -6.33 repeating, but in algebra you would give a more simplified answer. This would be -19/3
