While they were lazing around the block and just wandering, the unexpected piercing sound of the firetruck caught them by surprise. There had never been a fire in the neighborhood for the past decade and it was even presumed that the fire department was there just for formality. But now, it seems like the chance has come for them to be made to use.
Eager to be among the ones to have the "fire- department" experience as it was called in their town, they raced each other to get there as soon as possible. Once there, they could see just a huge ball of smoke coming from around three houses, none of which were actually on fire. It was puzzling to them, for they had never seen smoke without fire. And suddenly, a loud cracking sound emerged from one of the houses and exploded, right in front of their eyes. It was so loud that it seemed as if a bomb has exploded.
Directed by the firefighters to get to safety, the people huddled to the closest safe place and observe the work from afar. Another loud explosion, followed by an explosion from the last house. Then, everything was engulfed in flames. While people were worried about the casualties, there was no news as such at the moment. It was then that the firemen saw an approaching figure emerge from the plume of smoke.
To everyone's surprise, Bob emerged unharmed and told them that he had rescued everyone he believed were stuck in the houses and had kept them safe on the other side of the block. It was only then the people were relieved and thanked God for the safety of everyone. And Bob was declared a hero by the townspeople, for his act of kindness even in the face of danger, and he rightly deserved it too.
