In a class test, 4 marks are given for every correct answer and (-2) marks for every wrong answer. the test contains 15 questions. raj attempts all questions but only 9 are correct. what is his total score?

so to find the worth of the nine correct answers we use:


9 * 4 = 36

because for every 1 correct answer= 4 marks.

so right now we have 36 marks altogether

* you may not need this part but I'll show you just incase :)*

so since we have the 36 marks we can work out what the full score of the test is

so we goo back to the original number of 15 (the amount of questions) and times it by 4 because that would be the best score possible (100%)


15 * 4 = 60

so this is the maximum score

therefore Raj's score was 36 out of 60.
