It could have contributed because a lot of these countries have been in the power of Europe. Also they left a lot of its culture and a lot of colonists stayed. Because of that they left culture and many Africans and central American citizens may have adopted it as theirs. also remember that the Europeans got slaves from both parts (mostly Africa) and left that racism behind because in both Africa and central America there were whites which may have divided the countries people.
