A linear function has the same y-intercept as x + 4y = 20 and its graph contains the

point (4, 6). Find the slope of the linear function.

x + 4y = 20

Explanation:

Step 1: Subtract "x" on both sides.

x + 4y = 20

-x -x

Step 2: Simplify --> 4y = -x +20

Step 3: Divide 4 on all sides to leave "y" by itself. 4y = -(1)x + 20

Answr: The Slope is "-1/4". The slope will always be the number in front of the "x".
