what the x is saying when it says it equals 1, 3, 5, and 6 its basically saying anytime you see an x in the problem hence the y =27 - 4x you replace the x with the number that x equals for example if x = 3 I plug three in every time I see an x in the equation like the equation y = 27 - 4x so it would be y = 27 - 4(3) (parentheses meaning 4 times 3) so it would be now y = 27 - 12 and that would be y = 15 hope this helps :)
