the perimeter of a rectangle pool is 74 feet. if the length is one more than twice the width, find the dimensions of the pool

Explanation:

let length of the pool be l feet and width be w feet.

l = 2w + 1 --(1)

2(l + w) = 74 --(2)

sub (1) into (2):

2(2w + 1 + w) = 74

6w = 72

w = 12

therefore, length is 25feet and width is 12feet
