Let Mr Gelsomino lost g

Mr Chiarilli lost 240 more than g

so addition is to be used

  • g+240

or

  • 240+g

Just opposite

Answer:

Let g = number of hairs Mr. Gelsomino lost

Let c = number of hairs Mr. Chiarilli lost

Part (a)

If Mr. Chiarilli has lost 240 more hairs than Mr. Gelsomino lost, then the number of hairs Mr. Chiarilli has lost is:

240 + g

Part (b)

If Mr. Chiarilli has lost 240 more hairs than Mr. Gelsomino lost, then Mr. Gelsomino has lost:

c - 240

Part (c)

If Mr. Gelsomino has lost 60 hairs then:

⇒ 60 = c - 240

⇒ c = 60 + 240

⇒ c = 300

Therefore, Mr. Chiarilli has lost 300 hairs
