Gladwell is known for weaving together multiple strands of apparently unrelated materials in his work, and this excerpt from David and Goliath is no exception (in fact, the ellipsis marks you see throughout it show where we’ve omitted some of the original chapter’s other strands). To better understand Gladwell’s method, sketch an outline of the cause-and-effect analysis offered here. How effective do you find his ORGANIZATION? How does Gladwell integrate the strands to achieve UNITY?
