Dear Father,
How have you been doing? I've been doing alright lately. This new school so far doesn't seem the best for me, but I'll have to make do with it. I was able to make a new friend! Her name is Emma and she's really nice and supportive of me. I think our friendship will last long. As for school & homework, it is getting pretty hard to understand some of the questions they are asking. Some of the teachers are really trying their best to get us to understand the content, but others don't really care and just read from the textbook. My grades aren't doing too well, with a couple of them being C's. I think if the teachers new how to teach better, then I can understand the content being asked.
Everyday, I always see a fight break out, and I feel lucky I'm not in any of them, since I'm still seen as the "new kid". I usually stick around the crowds or with Emma and not by myself, because I see the bullies going for the kids who are by themselves. Some of the bathrooms are also not in working condition and the hallways are always full of trash (crumpled paper, stains, rubberbands, broken pencils, etc.). I'm trying my best to keep up with my grades and not get into trouble.
