Explanation:

The y intercept of a function is when it's x coordinate is zero, so input 0 into the function and solve for f(x)

f(0) = (1/2)^x

f(0) = (1/2)^0

f(0) = 1 Any number raised to zero is 1 so the y intercept has to be 1.
