*r= radius of the cylinder

h= height of cylinder

Substitute the given volume and height into the formula:

704= πr²(14)


{r}^(2) = (704)/(14\pi)

Square root both sides:


r = \sqrt{ (704)/(14\pi) } \\ r = 4.0008 \: (5 \: s.f.)

Diameter= 2(radius)

∴ Diameter of cylinder

= 2(4.0008)

= 8.0016
