Answer: A = 1237 ft, B = 503 ft

Explanation:

Let height of Tower A be ‘x’ feet
Let height of Tower B be ‘y’ feet

Therefore, By Given :-

=> x = y + 734 (Eq. 1)
=> x + y = 1740 (Eq. 2)

Substitute value of ‘x’ from Eq. 1 in 2 :-

x + y = 1740
(y + 734) + y = 1740
2y + 734 = 1740
2y = 1740 - 734
2y = 1006
y = 1006/2
=> y = 503

Therefore, y = 503

Substitute value of ‘y’ in Eq. 1 :-

x = y + 734
x = 503 + 734
=> x = 1237

Therefore, x = 1237

Hence,
Height of Tower A = x = 1237 feet
Height of Tower B = y = 503 feet

Answer:

Tower A = 1237 feet and Tower B = 503 feet

Explanation:

Let the height of Tower A be A and Tower B be B.

Then A = B + 734 and A + B = 1740

Substitute A for B and you get B + 734 + B = 1740

so 2B + 734 = 1740

so 2B = 1006

so B = 503

A = B + 734 from above so A = 734 + 503 = 1237
