Explanation:

There is a scale factor of 2 [This means that the lengths of triangle ∆MPN are exactly 2 times larger than ∆SRQ], so 5 × 2 = 10.

Notice that each corresponding line is marked by a black mark perpendicular to the side. Since 2 corresponds to 4, and 3 corresponds to 6, 5 must correspond to 10. These triangles are similar as indicated by the marks so there is just a size difference. Because these two triangles are similar, the sides must be proportional.

∆MPN ~ ∆SRQ.

It can also be thought of as completing a set of proportional fractions:

4/2 = 6/3 = ?/5

4/2 = 2 → 6/3 = 2 → ?/5 = 2.

?/5 = 2, ? = 5 × 2 = 10.
