A ball is dropped from a 32-foot wall. Each time it bounces, it rises half as high as the distance it fell. The ball is caught when it is 2 feet off the ground. How many feet does the ball travel before it is caught?

Answer:

The ball traveled 124 feet.

Explanation:

It was caught when it was 2 feet off the ground, so when it was first dropped, it was 32 feet, the first bounce was 16 feet, the second bounce was 8 feet, the third bounce was 4 feet, and the fourth bounce was 2 feet. It also travels up and down.
