PLEASE HELP ME ITS ONLY ONE QUESTION!!!

Campbell Soup is creating a new soup label. If a can has a height of 6 in and a diameter of 4 in, how much material does Campbell need for each soup label? Use 3.14 for π.

1. Is this looking for Lateral or Total surface area?

2. Which formula can be used to find the surface area of the label?

Answer:

1. lateral surface area

2. 2πrh

3. 75.36 in

Explanation:

1. the label only has to be pasted in the curved surface but not on the top and bottom of the can

2. the circumference of the can multiply with the height

3. since since "2*radius=diameter", so "diameter/2=radius"

2(3.14)(4/2)(6)=75.36 in
