the square of the longest side of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the two remaining sides.what is the square of the longest side of the right triangle if the shorter sides are 30 cm and 40 cm long

  • P=30cm
  • B=40cm

We need square of longest side means Hypotenuse

Use Pythagorean theorem

  • H²=P²+B²
  • H²=(30)²+(40)²
  • H²=50²
  • H²=2500

The square is 2500 .
