Answer:

100m^2

Explanation:

To do this we need to break the shape into sections as illustrated in the picture I attached, I color coded the squares to make it easier to explain. Now we just find the area of each shape and add them all together.

Area= base•height

So for the purple shape:

6•2=12

Orange:

8•8=64

Green:

2•12=24

In total:

12+64+24=100

And since it's area it would be in square units which just means it'd look like this:


{100m}^(2)

Answer:

100 sq m

Explanation:

if you fill in the shape to be a big rectangle it will be 8 x 22 =176 sq m

then the little piece on the left that is taken out is 2 x 2 = 4 sq m

the piece on the right is 6 x 12 = 72 sq m

so subtract them from the big rectangle

176 - 4 - 72 = 100 sq m
