Two sides of a triangle are equal in length, and the third side is 5 less than the length of the equal sides. If the perimeter of the triangle is 49, how long are it's sides?

Answer:

let the length of each of the 2 equal sides= n

then n+n+(n-5)=49

3n=44

n=44/3
