Answer: (1,4) is the answer

y= -x+5

y= x+3

since both expressions -x+5 and x+3 are equal to y, set them equal to each other forming an equation in x

-x+5=x+3

solve for x, so x=1

Then, substitute the given value of x into the equation y=x+3

y=1+3 which equals to y=4

Check:

Check if the ordered pair is the solution of the system of equations

4= (-1) +5

4= (1)+3

Which equals to

4=4

4=4

since all od the equalities are true, the ordered pair is the solution of the system

(x,y) = (1,4)
