Answer:

1. What rights/power did Anne Hutchinson have/not have? What was she trying to fight for?

She shared her own interpretations of Cotton's teachings, against the precepts of the governing ministers. Tried by the General Court and interrogated by Governor John Winthrop, Hutchinson was found guilty of heresy and banished. She was later killed in 1643 in a massacre by Native Americans.

2. Explain how coverture played a role in the lives of these women.

Coverture held that no female person had a legal identity. ... They were “feme coverts,” covered women. Because they did not legally exist, married women could not make contracts or be sued, so they could not own or work in businesses. Married women owned nothing, not even the clothes on their backs

3. How was the power of women limited in the colonial period?

They were not allowed to vote and lost most control of their property (if they had any to begin with) in marriage. They could not divorce, and even single women could not make contracts, sue anyone, or be sued, at least until the late 18th century.
