9 + 1/2 (7n - 26) - 8n
Expand brackets by multiplying by 1/2:
9 + 3.5n - 13 - 8n
Collect like terms:
4.5n - 4
Turn it into an equation:
4.5n - 4 = 0
Isolate 4.5n by adding 4 to both sides:
4.5n = 4
Divide both sides by 4.5 to get the value of n:
n = 8/9
