You can answer this by plugging in the x values given in the chart.

For example let’s look at the first column where x is given to equal -1
If we know that x=-1 then we can substitute that for x in the given equation y= 3x+2 so now it looks like
y=3(-1)+2

The 3 and the -1 are spectated only by parenthesis meaning they are multiplied. So now it look like this:
y=-3+2
Now just add these terms together
y=-1
Now you know what goes in the y box under -1.
You can repeat this for each x value.

Let’s do one more, the box that has 0 In it. Remember this means x=0 so 0 can be put anywhere in the equation you see x.
Y=3(0)+2
Anything times 0 is zero
So you just have: y=0+2
So y=2
This would go in the box under the 0.
