If x=4 y=-3 and z =5 find the value of 5y +2x-z

The answer is -12.

All you have to do is substitute the variables for their values and solve.

Explanation:

So if the equation is 5y+2x-z and the substitutions are x=4 y=-3 z=5 , all you have to do is replace each variable with its given numbers. Like so

5(-3)+2(4)-5

Now what you have to do is simplify

Negative times a positive is a negative

Negative times a negative is a positive

Positive times a positive is a positive

So....

-15+8-5

-20+8

-12
