The volume of a prism is 60 cubic cm. If the height is 6 cm and the width is 2 cm, what is the length? Help me lol

*Note that I'm assuming the prism is a triangular prism

Volume = 60cm³

Height = 6cm

Width = 2cm

The equation for the volume of a triangular prism is:

V =
(b * h * l)/(2)

Let's substitute in the values we already know:

60 =
(2 * 6 * l)/(2)

And now we need to make l the subject by multiplying both sides by 2:

120 = 2 x 6 x L

Simplify:

120 = 12L

Flip to make easier to read:

12L = 120

Divide both sides by 12 to get the value of L (length):

L = 10

And let's show proof that L = 10 (remember that V (volume) should be equal to 60):

V =
(2 * 6 * 10)/(2)

V =
(120)/(2)

V = 60

Therefore we can determine the the length is indeed 10cm.

I hope this helped! :)
