Answer: It exagerated the need to seek freedom and go to war and contribute to the war effort. An example of this can be seen in how cononial press described the Boston Massacre. The colonial press made the situation and the massacre seem much worse than it did, they said that 5 Americans were tormented and later brutally murdered by British soldiers. They made it seem that the people murdered were innocent and didnt do anything to the British soldiers. Furthermore, the illustrations were extemely gory and brutal. What revolustionists wanted the outcome of the propaganda from the press was to get Americans to get ready have a revoultion and justify going to war with the British. It worked, after the Boston Massacre more Americans were in favor of war than before the boston Massacre.
