Answer:

2.75x+0.5y<22

Explanation:

The price for the amount of friends would be 2.75 times the amount of people. Since we don't know that value, we use x.

The price for the distance would be 0.5 (which is equivalent to 0.50) times the amount of miles. Since we don't know that value, we use y.

We add the amount of friends and the distance amount together with an addition sign, and then we choose out inequality sign. The friends only have 22 dollars, so that is the max they can go. We put a line under the < because it can be equal to 22.
