A student correctly writes the equations of two lines based on their graphs. Line 1 y = − 5 2 x Line 2 y = − 5 2 x + 8 Which statement about the graphs of the lines is true? Only Line 2 intersects the y -axis at the origin. Only Line 2 intersects the y -axis at the origin. Only Line 1 intersects the y -axis at the origin. Only Line 1 intersects the y -axis at the origin. Neither Line 1 nor Line 2 intersects the y -axis at the origin. Neither Line 1 nor Line 2 intersects the y -axis at the origin. Both Line 1 and Line 2 intersect the y -axis at the origin.

Only Line 1 intercepts the y-axis at the origin

Explanation

Y=Mx+b
M= slope B= y-intercept

When it’s only y=mx the interception occurs (0,0) aka the origin
